Calling All Members! The Mentoring and Gym Visitation Program is Starting Soon!  Read below for more information.

Our goal in developing the ITP has been to open and expand our community's educational opportunities. Texas is extremely lucky to have such a unique gymnastics community. We are very proud that our member gyms work together in such a friendly, open manner. It is this unique quality of Texas Gymnastics that has served not only as a role model for other areas, but also has drawn interest from the rest of the country. We wish to expand on this attribute through the ITP, making all of us stronger as we continue to work together in the spirit of open exchange.

The Instructor Training Program has been in the developmental stages for several years, with the focus being on developing the workshops. The areas we targeted for development were the continuing education workshops, professional mentoring and a gym visitation program.

We are now ready to move forward with the next stage of development: The Mentoring and Gym Visitation Program. If you are interested in becoming a Mentor for the ITP, we would love to hear from you!

Areas of Mentoring we are interested in filling are: Business, Preschool & Recreational Coaching, Team Coaching, General Gymnastics, Cheer, Staff Management and Facility Management.

In order to become a mentor, you must have:

  • a minimum of 10 years experience in the area of which you wish to mentor,
  • you must be willing to share your expertise with a positive, accessible, and open attitude, and allow gym visitations in your facility, and
  • you must be willing to provide a phone number and/or email address for publication at which other members can reach you.

We appreciate your support in furthering the education for all GAT members. The open exchange of information between our member gyms serves to strengthen all of us.

Applications for the Mentoring Program will be available at the GAT convention and are posted on the GAT website now. Mentoring Application Form (Acrobat File)  Upon receipt of your application, we will review your qualifications and contact you regarding your selection as a mentor.

As a thank you, each mentor will receive a banner for their gym designating them a selected Mentor Gym for Gymnastics Association of Texas.

We appreciate your interest in the ITP and we look forward to seeing everyone at GAT as we continue to serve our membership through expanding and improving the educational opportunities for YOU, our membership!
