The convention will be held once again at the beautiful Renaissance Austin Hotel. Check back often for all the up-to-the minute activities planned during this fun-filled educational weekend!

Great News for GAT 09!

 

Please take time to read all the new things in store for GAT 09.

  • GAT is proud to support the USAG National Congress being held in Dallas on August 13-16th along with the Visa Championships.
  • GAT 09 will be held 3 weeks after congress September 4th- 6th in Austin at the beautiful Renaissance Hotel.
  • With the success of the auction last year, we are planning NEW and IMPROVED Instruction Training Programs (ITP) THIS year.
  • ITP 101 – Recreational Coaches – will be REVISED with new topics and MORE... you asked for us to teach the NEXT level of class coaches so now you get it.
  • ALL NEW! ITP 102 – Pre School Coaches! Again, you asked and it will be debuting THIS year!
  • ALL NEW! ITP 401 Tumbling and Trampoline Course are debuting THIS year!
  • NEW THIS year ONLY: All ITP courses WILL be open sessions for all to learn from, although, we will still offer the 10 Hour/ certificate, you can check out any of the NEW topics/lectures.
  • Make note: 2009 will be presenting Instruction Training Programs (ITP):

    101 – REVISED – Recreational Coaches

    102 - ALL NEW – Pre School Coaches

    201- Girls Team Coaching (Beginner- Level 6)

Update NEWS FLASH for Senate Bill 68!!!!!!

We recommend that each of you contact your House of Representative. Let them know that you are a constituent and that your support SB 68 with the amendments as passed by the sub committee. Please be respectful and considerate when communicating with their office.This will help get SB 68 voted out of the Houseand sent back to the Senate. Time is nearing the end of the legislative session and it is important for all skills based programsto be exempt from daycare, and this is the bill exempts programs that are skills based.

What is GAT?

GAT's primary purpose each year is to educate gymnastics coaches and judges. GAT holds it's annual convention in Austin, Texas Labor Day weekend.

What can this site do for you?
  • Register on-line for the convention beginning the first week in July 2007
  • Advertise (see our advertising prices and places) Advertise in our convention program. Vendors and speakers will get first choice and then we will open it to the public for those choosing to participate.
  • Beginning Summer of 2007, check out all the exciting events for the convention.

Formal Purpose: GAT is the corporation entitled the Gymnastics Association of Texas. This corporation is organized exclusively as a professional association. The corporation shall be operated exclusively for the following purposes.
  • promoting the organization and development of gymnastics in all aspects of the sport
  • developing enthusiastic public opinion in favor of the sport of gymnastics
  • encouraging participation in the sport of gymnastics
  • encouraging and implementing correct and safe methods of teaching gymnastics skills
  • promoting clinics and workshops in gymnastics throughout the gymnastics community
